Wits Geosciences invites you to a unique two-day geological field excursion and special exhibition celebrating the geological heritage that gave rise to Johannesburg. Explore the geology behind the discovery of the Witwatersrand Goldfields through visits to iconic geoheritage sites, including Melville Koppies, historic mining localities and landmarks. A highlight of the programme is a gala dinner, talk by Prof. Bruce Cairncross, and special viewing and exhibition at Origins Centre.
