The Purpose of True Education: a public lecture exploring what education is really for, through the lens of Vedantic philosophy.
Drawing on three thousand years of classical Indian philosophical tradition, this lecture asks the most urgent question of our time: What is education ultimately for? Shri Aravindan explores the distinction between the accumulation of information and the cultivation of wisdom, and between professional competence and human excellence. Drawing on Vedantic epistemology, Shri Aravindan will explore what it means to educate the whole person, and why that question has become more urgent in an age of information abundance.
