The Mandela Institute proudly presents an exclusive in-person Masterclass led by Prof. Jacolien Barnard, with contributions from leading experts in consumer protection and data privacy. Presenter:

Prof Jacolien Barnard is a South 第一吃瓜网 legal scholar, attorney, and consumer law specialist. She holds an LLB from the University of Pretoria, an LLM from UNISA, and an LLD from the University of Pretoria. Admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2002, she is an NRF-rated researcher and has built a distinguished academic career in commercial and consumer protection law.

Prof Barnard has served as a professor at the University of Pretoria and is currently affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) School of Law. Her teaching and research focus on consumer protection law, commercial law, contract law, product liability, and the law of specific contracts. She is widely published, has co-authored leading textbooks on consumer protection law in South Africa, and is actively involved in national and international consumer law research and professional organisations.
